Visiting the Statue of Liberty
As for most of the attractions you will need a Ticket.
It`s advised to reserve them well in advance because they tend to sell out quickly, especially during Summer month.
In case you are spontaneous, there is a Ticket Office in Battery Park. It is located in a round building called ‘Castle Clinton National Monument’ and it is near the departure port of the Ferries.
There are four different Ticket Types, all including the return ferry-ride from/to New Jersey or New York to Liberty Island and Ellis Island, access to the Immigration Museum on Ellis Island, access to the grounds of Liberty Island and Ellis Island and an Audio Tour for both Island.
1. The Standard Reserve Ticket is usually available for same day purchase if you get there early. It includes the basics named above and costs $18 for Adults, $9 for Children (4-12) and $14 for Seniors 62+, Children (0-3) are free.
2. The Pedestal Reserve Ticket may need to be booked in advance. It includes the basics plus it allows access up to the Fort Wood section of the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty. Tickets prices are the same as for the Standart Reserve Ticket.
3. The Crown Reserve Ticket has to be booked at least 1 month in advance. Tours are every day on the hour with the first tour at 9am and the last tour at 1pm.
This Ticket includes the basics, access to pedestal and access up to the Crown of the Statue of Liberty. When booking this Ticket you need to choose a Date/Time and provide names of ticket users to be printed on the ticket.
It costs $21 for Adults, $12 for Children (4-13) and $17 for Seniors (62+).
4. The Hard Hat Reserve Ticket includes the basics and a 90-minute guided tour of the South Side of Ellis Island - exclusive only to the Hard Hat Tour where you will experience "Unframed Ellis Island", an Art Exhibit by French Artist JR. Tickets cost $53 for Adults and $49 for Seniors.
All participants must be 13 years of age or older. It is also required to wear closed-toe shoes.
